CNTs can be Made into Field Emission Layer to Decrease Operating Voltage for PDP

Liu et al have demonstrated that field emission layer made with electrophoretic deposited CNTs for PDP can decrease its operating voltage by 30-40V because CNTs as the source of field emission electron in PDP cell have good uniformity and excellent field emission capability.

Several methods for pretreatment of CNTs have been used to enhance CNTs’ property, for example, balling grinding for good dispersion and defects increase, a mixture of concentrated nitric and sulphuric acids to purify, shorten and functionalize CNTs, Mg(NO3)2·6H2O as the charger salt to improve the adhesion of CNTs to substrates and to increase the deposition rate in the EPD process.
