Enhancement of Color Rendering Index of White OLED by Double Emitting Nanolayers

Based on only double emissive nanolayers, Liu et al. successfully fabricated a very-high color rendering index white organic light-emitting diode (OLED). The OLED exhibits a maximum total efficiency of 13.1 and 5.4 lm/W at 1000 cd/m2. The peak color rendering index of device is over 90. A relatively stable color was obtained during a large of luminance. In the structure of white OLED, 4,4’,4’’-tri(9-carbazoyl) triphenylamine) hosts a more important role in the performance by comparing to 4,4-N, N-dicarbazolebiphenyl.

As one of the most stormily developing technologies, white OLED has great potential applications in the display markets and next-generation lighting sources.

This paper provided a instructive guide for the rational design of high performance OLED.
